Menu:

Keep the menu simple with a creamy seafood bisque, white bean soup and other white-textured meals. Serve an eye-popping array of canapes and tea sandwiches including cucumber or smoked salmon with cream cheese and chicken salad and don't forget the white themed cake.

The Wedding Shower check list:

• Set the date and hour to hold the shower with enough anticipation to the wedding ceremony. 
• Include bride's maids and her closest friends to plan and organize the shower.
• Select the theme and decorations for the shower and compose the guests list.  
• If you plan to hold a couples shower don't forget to include female members of the bride and groom families.

• One month in advance to the shower send out the invitations, ask for RSVP and include directions, theme of the shower and the bridal registry information.
• Organize the games you want to play, if any, and hire the entertainer, stripper dancers or whatever related to the chosen theme and order the cake.
• One week in advance to the wedding shower buy food, drinks, mints, nuts and other snacks and check the confirmed attendance.
• The day before the party buy the flowers and decorate the home or venue where the shower will be held. Talk with the people who are assisting you to set the final details.
• The day of the shower pick up the cake and stick to your planned schedule.

Budget:

It is important to decide how much you want or afford to spend. Depending on the shower itself you may pay for the whole party or ask the closest bride's friends to help with the cost. Decide if the party will be held in your home and if cost of food will be split or suggest alternatives to avoid discussions about money and yet save time by celebrating with a pot luck where everyone brings a food dish and help with decorations. A wedding shower that last more than two hours increases the expenses, especially in alcohol or when the party is held in a venue where the admission is charged, like a strip bar or comedy club. It is up to you to let the guests know the price but ensure they understand that everyone has to pay their own way except the bride.

Although it is not proper to include bridal registry information on the wedding invitations, remember that wedding shower gives you the opportunity to include those details and don't forget while the bride opens her gifts have someone keep a list of who has given each present that she receives and maintain the party spirit through the celebration with jokes on bride and other traditional fun.
