Workplace party ideas

Office party importance:

Whether you are an employee or the boss, don't miss the opportunity to organize an office party at your company. Professional parties are necessary to release stress when your work colleagues, staff and yourself have been under a heavy workload or bored to death after whole weeks of inactivity at the office. Office parties are not only a discharging break but encourage people to improve the relationship between workers and employers and offer the chance to chat and exchange opinions in a less pressured environment.

Planning:
Christmas and Holidays parties are other events which might be organized at work along with others to celebrate the success of a project, the opening or expansion of new areas, the company foundation date, any given birthday’s or anniversaries, the welcome to new personnel or as part of the compensation after a raise or promotion.
Also, office parties are business opportunities if clients or potential clients are attending the event or if it is expressly aimed to them regardless whether or not you own the firm. Seminars, meetings and cocktails at the office are

only few of those opportunities to celebrate the same as the launching of a product or the presentation of a new project.

Remember there is tacit business etiquette the same if you are considering inviting your clients as part of a business strategy to close a deal. Talk to the staff before the event regarding appropriateness of conversations, humor and alcohol consumption during the event and set the necessary cautions if you are in position to lead or dispose how the party will be held.

Budget:

Another aspect to consider is the budget and the options to celebrate the office party away from the workplace having a lunch at a restaurant or hiring a function room, hall, dance floor or in-house caterer. The most suitable option is to host the party inside the work area to impress the staff, co-workers and guests avoiding at the same time costly waste of time and money.>

What to include?

The planning of an office party must include music, dancing, drinking, and relaxing activities. Don't forget formal invitations and business cards if clients are invited. Decorations are important and should fit the purpose of the event, although any other regular non-business theme is also okay.

Few suggestions:

Suggested decoration might include a wide range of items including walls adorned with props, quotes or motivational posters such as Herman, the comic created by Jim Unger which not only became the first newspaper comic syndicated in East Germany before the fall of the Berlin Wall in November 9, 1989 but also a symbol thanks to the particular sense of humor to keep motivated the workforce in many firms around the world.

Caution:

Apart from hanging decoration use glasses not only to drink but filled with confetti, gifts, party poppers, card holders. Dress with paper or napkins decorations those glasses for drinks or simply add little tags to identify whose glass is whose, a popular practice at the moment.
