The night before the party place the decorations including party favors, balloons, and colorful moving announcements with the new address and numbers. Repeat this information as part of the invitations text.
Advance preparations:
Set up in advance the plates, cups, napkins and silverware although if feasible to try to buy all plastic utensils. Also, non-perishables snacks like potato chips, nachos, bread, salt and pepper can be placed out with anticipation. As simple as these little tasks can seem, they save you time and cut down on the hard work during the celebration day.
Gifts:
House warming gifts can range from a gift basket or gift certificate to a microwave or an outdoor welcome plaque that make family and friends feel right at home in the new house. If the party will be large with many people attending, you need to organize it and set up gift registry table or a present checklist to avoid too many duplicate items and give your friends what they really need.
Organize:
Organize your party list into groups by room and put more people into the groups that need the most things, like the kitchen and dinning room, ensuring to make the people in each group be in touch with each other so they can discuss their gifts and assignments during the party.
The same as the new home address and phone numbers, the invitations can list a few suggested gifts with different price ranges as well as your phone number to call you back with their gift purchase.
This way you can keep the list updated and make it available to guests for consultation prior to buying their gifts. If you have a wishing well be sure to mention it on the invitation and don’t forget to include thank you notes as a wishing well gift.
